Nach teils unheilvollen Ereignissen in der mehr als 180-jährigen Geschichte von Perus Nationalbibliothek und nach finanziellen Schwierigkeiten wegen sich zwölf Jahre lang hinziehenden Bauarbeiten ist das Ziel endlich erreicht: 2006 wurde ihr neues Gebäude eingeweiht. Außer der Bibliothek selbst beherbergt es ein Theater sowie ein Amphitheater; es gilt als eines der modernsten und funktionalsten in Lateinamerika. Damit haben in Peru Ideen und Bücher ein ihrer Bedeutung angemessenes Haus erhalten.
After partly disastrous events during the history of the National Library of Peru in 180 years and after financial difficulties caused by the protracted construction work during 12 years the aim is finally achieved: in 2006 the new building was inaugurated. Beside the library the building houses a theatre as well as an amphitheatre; it is considered one of the most modern and functional in Latin America. So ideas and books received an adequate house due to their importance.
Après des évènements désastreus pendant l'histoire de la Bibliothèque nationale du Pérou en 180 ans et après des difficultés financières à cause d'une construction s'échelonnant pendant 12 années le but est finalement achevé: en 2006 le bâtiment nouveau fut inauguré. Á côté de la bibliothèque l'édifice abrite un théâtre ainsi qu'un amphithéâtre qui est considéré le plus moderne et fonctionnel de l'Amérique Latine. Ainsi les idées et les livres ont reçu une maison conforme à leur importance.
