Solid State Chemistry Conference (SSC 2016)

18-23 September 2016, Prague, Czech Republic

From the journal Chemistry International

The Solid State Chemistry conference is a traditional forum for presentation and discussion of the most recent advancements in all the fields of Chemistry: theory, numerical modelling, experiments, and applications. The event is open to experts and scientists with different backgrounds (chemists, physicists, material scientists, biologists, engineers, etc.) to present, discuss, and exchange ideas, methods and results.

The SSC conference series began in 1986 in Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic), organized by Prof. Miloslav Frumar from the University of Pardubice, Czech Republic. Over the years, the number of SSC conference sites has expanded, with several locations all over the Czech and Slovak Republics. The 12th SSC conference will be held in Prague and is organized in honour of Professor Frumar on the occasion of his 80th birthday, to celebrate his life-long scientific contribution to the field of solid state chemistry.

The 5-day event will include invited and contributed talks and posters organized in thematic sessions (Preparation and synthesis; Phase and properties characterization; Nanomaterials, nanocomposites and catalysis; Magnetic, metal and alloy materials; Optical and photovoltaic materials; Theoretical approaches to solid-state chemistry). The plenary speakers will provide a broader view of this complex field and of the main topics. The scientific program is complemented by a rich social program, including a guided tour through Prague and a conference dinner with a view overlooking the old city of Prague.
