摘要
本文以马来西亚华语和新加坡华语的 “V 到 C” 结构为例，探讨这两种语言变体的句法格局。表面上，“V 到 C” 结构是源于方言干扰的句法变异；实际上，表层形式的改变以致句法格局的转变，这其中除了牵涉语言类型的问题，句法格局转变的趋势，即表层形式怎么变、变到什么程度，其背后的理据是语言干扰的限度。也就是说，语言之间接触的时间再长、一个语言受另一个语言影响的程度再深，干扰都不会无止尽地进行下去。简言之，语言干扰是有限度的，即使类型学差异较小的语言系统，如：汉语南北方言之间的接触，亦然。
Abstract
It has long been argued that there are syntactic structures in Malaysian and Singapore Mandarin, which were brought about through interference from southern Chinese dialects—the “verb-complement” construction is one of them. This paper aims to discuss the constraints of dialect interference with evidences from the “verb-complement” construction in Malaysian and Singapore Mandarin.
