Abstract
This contribution presents the technique of conversive translation, which has yet to receive much attention in Germany. The concept focuses on the use of verbs in the target language that describe the action from a different point of view. The situation depicted remains recognizable despite the shift, and neither are text meaning nor authorial intention impaired. The technique is applied when the target language offers no semantic equivalents, rules and conventions prevent their use, or a clearer statement is possible.
