Zusammenfassung
Ein wichtiges Kennzeichen von Karl Barths Denken besteht darin, dass er die Theologie immer mehr als Christologie konzipierte. Seiner Überzeugung nach ist die Beziehung zwischen Gott und Mensch also nicht anders zu verstehen als durch Jesus Christus. In diesem Beitrag soll auf zwei damit verbundene Aspekte eingegangen werden: Barths Bestreben, zu einer dezidiert theologischen Theologie zu gelangen (Abschnitt I) und die damit einhergehende Betonung der Geschichte (Abschnitt II). Mit beidem wendet sich Barth gegen die so genannte Liberale Theologie. Deswegen soll abschließend diskutiert werden, wie sein Verhältnis zu ihr näher zu bestimmen ist (Abschnitt III).
Summary
An important feature of Karl Barth’s thought is that he increasingly conceptualizes theology as Christology. According to his conviction, the relationship between God and humankind is not to be understood except through Jesus Christ. In this paper two aspects of this approach will be examined: (Part I) Barth’s endeavour to arrive at a decidedly theological theology and (Part II) the interrelated emphasis on history. With both of these aspects, Barth turns against the so-called Liberal Theology. In conclusion, the question will be discussed how Barth’s relationship to Liberal Theology is to be specified (Part III).
