Zusammenfassung
Der Beitrag diskutiert die Licht- und Schattenseiten der Metapher der „losen Kopplung“. Im Zusammenhang mit einigen Überlegungen zum Interdependenzmanagement durch formale Organisation beginnt der Beitrag mit einer kurzen Lektüre von Weicks Arbeiten zu „loose coupling“ und „loosely coupled systems“. Er provoziert die Frage, ob diese soziale Form in ihren erwarteten und unerwarteten Auswirkungen eines spezifisches Problems von – in Goffmans Worten – Organisationen des „people-processing“ ist. Vermutlich ist dieser Organisationstyp prägend für moderne Begriffe und Konzepte von Netzwerken.
Abstract
The paper discusses the bright and the dark sides of the metaphor of „loose coupling“. Related to some considerations about interdependency management by formal organization, the paper starts with a brief reading of Weick’s reflections concerning „loose coupling“ and „loosely coupled systems“. It provokes the question, whether this social form in both its expected and unexpected effects is a specific matter of, in Goffman’s terms, „people-processing“ organizations. Presumably, this type of organization is formative for modern terms and concepts of networks.
