Zusammenfassung
Nach dem Ende der DDR ist eine Fülle von Material zugänglich geworden (geheime Forschungsarbeiten, Dokumente in Staats- und Parteiarchiven), die einen Blick auf die „Hinterbühne“ eines Rechtssystems gestatten. Vor allem anhand von Materialien aus dem Zentralen Parteiarchiv der SED werden verschiedene Aspekte des Funktionierens des Rechtssystems der DDR aufgezeigt, die bislang hinter der Fassade der propagandistischen Selbstdarstellung verborgen waren. Es fehlt nicht an zahlreichen Hinweisen auf Forschungs-Desiderate.
Summary
It is now possible to a gain a glimpse of the backstage operations of the legal system of the GDR. The collapse of that regime has made available a large volume of material, e.g., secret research reports, documents from the party and government archives. Various aspects of the functioning of the legal system of the GDR that were formerly disguised by its propaganda are discussed here primarily on the basis of material uncovered in the central archives of the East German communist party. A number of possible directions for further research are suggested.
