Zusammenfassung
Amerikanische Filme haben auch das Denken des deutschen Publikums über Recht und Justiz beeinflußt. Selbst Rechtsfilme, die in Deutschland spielen, folgen amerikanischen Mustern . Es wird aufgezeigt, wie courtroom dramas für den universitären Unterricht genutzt werden können. Der Artikel geht sodann den Eigenschaften des amerikanischen Kriminalverfahrens nach, die es so attraktiv machen. Abschließend wird eine systemtheoretische Erklärung der Rezeption von Rechtsthemen in Filmen entwickelt. Dazu wird die Theorie Niklas Luhmanns herangezogen.
Summary
American movies have influenced the German audiences’ thinking about law and the administration of justice. Even law movies with a story situated in Germany follow the different American patterns. It is depicted, how courtroom dramas can be used in university classes. After this, the article deals with the special traits of the American criminal trial causing this attraction. Finally, a systems theoretical explanation is developed for the reception of legal topics in the film. For this purpose Niklas Luhmann’s theory is introduced.
