Sodium Bis[trimethylsilyl]Amide as a Proton Acceptor with Respect to Organic Ligands in Substituted Metal Carbonyls

The reaction of M(CO)5NCCH3 (M = Cr, Mo, W) and C7H8Fe(CO)3 with sodium bis-[trimethylsilyl] amide does not lead to the transformation of a CO group into CN⁻, but instead, to a deprotonation to give the anions [M(CO)5NCCH2]⁻ and [C7H7Fe(CO)3]⁻.
