Structure of 1,1′-dinapthoxymethanephenyloxyphosphinesulphide1

Abstract

1,1′-dinapthoxymethanephenyloxyphosphinesulphide (C27H19O3SP) crystallizes in the triclinic system, P[unk] with a = 11.532(1), b = 11.931(1), c = 8.210(1) Å, α = 94.11(1), β = 110.78(1), γ = 77.40(1)°, V = 1080.6(2) Å3, Z = 2, Dx = 1.40 Mg m−3, λ(CuKα) = 1.5418 Å and T = 292 K. The structure was solved by direct methods and refinement by full-matrix least-squares method led to a final R = 0.045 for 3525 observed reflections. The heterocyclic phosphorous eight membered ring assumes a distorted boat conformation. The packing of the molecules are by van der Waals forces.
