"La lecture de ce volume permet d’étudier 1) la confrontation avec Galilée qui amène Leibniz, au début de son séjour à Paris, à redéfinir le concept de la force – la quantification de la force – ; 2) ses recherches sur la distinction entre la nature de la force et celle de mouvement, qui joueront un rôle majeur non seulement dans sa physique, mais également dans sa métaphysique.
