Pure S4N4 is prepared by a new method from reduction of S3N3Cl3 by various metals (Hg, Cu, Sn). Realized either in an inert solvent or directly in gaseous phase the reaction is complete. The stability range of NSCl has been determined by Raman spectrometry.
