The article proposes a new way to conceive and methodically analyze the impact of gender in judicial action. The focus here is not on gender-differences, i.e. on differences in the professional action of men and women. Rather, it is on the latent differentiations between men and women the lauyers „make“ in their professional practice. Α sequential analysis of the narrative description of a case by a judge in the field of family law can show how a pattern of gender-differentiation in this sense operates in a way unnoticed and therefore not controlled by her professional habitus.
