Abstract

State-of-the-art optical belt sorters commonly employ line scan cameras and use simple assumptions to predict each particle's movement, which is required for the separation process. Previously, we have equipped an experimental optical belt sorter with an area scan camera and were able to show that tracking the particles of the bulk material results in an improvement of the predictions and thus also the sorting process. In this paper, we use the slight gap between the sensor lines of an RGB line scan camera to derive information about the particles' movements in real-time. This approach allows improving the predictions in optical belt sorters without necessitating any hardware modifications.

Geometrical and spectral data stitching for combining hyperspectral imaging systems

Abstract

One way to increase the amount of information acquired via hyperspectral imaging and therefore to increase the possibility of data analysis is combining the spatial and spectral information of hyperspectral data sets. The aforementioned data sets are obtained by cameras covering different spectral ranges. The purpose of this article is to develop an algorithm which is able to combine two data sets acquired by two hyperspectral pushbroom imagers, covering the visible (VIS) and the near infrared (NIR) wavelength range. Initially, the effect of optical aberrations, as well as errors via the image registration were examined. Subsequently a correction algorithm for both the optical aberration and the image registration is elaborated.

A self-configurable fault detection system for Industrial Ethernet networks

Abstract

In this paper, a self-configurable fault detection system for automated production systems with Industrial Ethernet is proposed. The scope of the proposed fault detection system are process variables, i.e., the observed actuator and sensor signals. Self-configuration of the fault detection system is enabled by recording and analyzing the link connection of the Ethernet network during system start. In a subsequent training phase, a knowledge base is automatically built from the observed process variables. Knowledge-based fault detection is accomplished once the knowledge base is established. Fault detection has been evaluated for a glue production process. In this application case, the knowledge-based fault detection method yielded a balanced accuracy of 99.81%, while a model-based method, which has been used as reference, produced a balanced accuracy of 93.11%.

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Industrielle Bildverarbeitung wird in immer größerem Maße automatisiert. Vollständig autonom lernende Systeme sind aber häufig nicht realisierbar, da Repräsentanten der aufzufindenden Fehlerklassen nicht in ausreichendem Maße vorliegen. Wir stellen hier ein Vorgehen vor, das sowohl die parametrisierbaren Methoden der Bildverarbeitung nutzt, als auch moderne Modellierungs- und Lernverfahren. Modellannahmen werden dabei zur Einbringung von Vorwissen in Kontur- und Segmentierungsdetektion genutzt, maschinelles Lernen zur Detektion auffälliger Regionen. Da die Beschaffung von Fehlermustern in der Regel wesentlich aufwändiger ist, als diejenige von Gutteilen, werden hier Methoden der sogenannten Ein-Klassen-Klassifikation bzw. des PU-Learnings (positive and unlabelled data) vorgestellt. Die Anwendbarkeit und Flexibilität der genannten Verfahren wird an Hand einiger Beispiele aus der industriellen Praxis demonstriert.

Signalverarbeitung zur Inline-Prozessüberwachung für koaxial integrierte Messtechnik in der Lasermikrostrukturierung

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der Einsatz von Ultrakurzpuls(UKP)-Lasersystemen für die Mikrobearbeitung gewinnt in vielen Laserbearbeitungsanwendungen zunehmend an Bedeutung und ist eines der wichtigsten Werkzeuge für die Mikrofertigung. Obwohl Computer Aided Design(CAD)-Modelle alle geometriebezogenen Informationen über das Werkstück für die Steuerung enthalten, erzeugen die vorherigen Bearbeitungsschritte am Werkstück eine unbekannte Topographie des Bauteils im Mikrometerbereich. Um die oben genannten Abweichungen zu kompensieren und einen toleranzgerechten Fertigungsprozess zu ermöglichen, ist eine Messung der Mikrogeometrie des Werkstücks innerhalb der Werkzeugmaschine wichtig. Daher ist das Ziel dieser Arbeit eine Inline-Messsystemintegration eines sensorbasierten adaptiven Mikrobearbeitungssystems unter Verwendung eines UKP-Lasers, mit dem Ziel einer ausschussfreien Produktion.

Zusammenfassung Während Computer-assistierte Inspektionsplanung (Computer Aided Inspection Planning, CAIP) für mechanische Inspektionsaufgaben Stand der Technik ist, findet sie im Bereich von Entwurf und Umsetzung von Systemen der industriellen Bildverarbeitung (IBV) noch keine breite Anwendung. Dieser Beitrag stellt ein Konzept und die beispielhafte Implementierung vor, wie durch Anreicherung von STEP-CAD-Daten mit Oberflächeneigenschaften von Bauteilen und der Einbettung von Toleranzangaben die Ausgangsbasis für eine semi-automatische Erstellung und Optimierung von Konfigurationsvorschlägen für Bildverarbeitungssysteme in Interaktion mit einem Systemexperten erreicht wird.
