Abstract

Zusammenfassung UWE (UML-based Web Engineering) ist ein Ansatz zur modellgetriebenen Entwicklung von Websystemen. Die UWE-Notation ist speziell an die intuitive Modellierung von Webanwendungen angepasst; UWE umfasst einen werkzeugunterstützten Entwicklungsprozess für die semi-automatische Konstruktion von Webanwendungen; und UWE-Modelle ermöglichen eine frühzeitige Validierung. Eines der Hauptcharakteristika von UWE ist seine Verwendung von etablierten Standards: Die Modellierungssprache basiert auf UML und einer UML-Erweiterung, einem so genannten UML-Profil. Dieses Profil ist als eine konservative Erweiterung des UML-Metamodells definiert, wodurch die Verwendung bestehender Modellierungswerkzeuge und deren Erweiterungen ermöglicht wird. Der UWE-Prozess wendet die Model-Driven-Architecture (MDA)-Prinzipien auf die Entwicklung von Webanwendungen an, Modelle und Modelltransformationen bilden den primären Fokus. Summary The UML-based Web Engineering (UWE) approach supports the model-driven development of Web systems. The UWE notation is tailored for an intuitive modelling of Web applications. UWE comprises a development process and tool support for semi-automatic construction of Web applications. UWE models make early validation possible. One of the distinguishing features of UWE is its compliance with standards. Modelling with UWE is based on UML and a UML extension – a so-called UML profile. The UWE profile is defined as a conservative extension of the UML metamodel. Metamodelling and conformance with standards enable the use of existing tools or the development of plug-ins for tools already in use. The UWE process applies the Model Driven Architecture (MDA) principles to the development of Web applications focusing on models and model transformations.

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Webanwendungen sind oft hochkomplexe, inhaltsreiche Systeme, die dennoch häufig unter großem Zeitdruck entworfen werden. Typische Probleme in der Konzeption solcher Systeme liegen darin, frühzeitig tragfähige Entwürfe zu entwickeln, Alternativen zu bewerten und auszuwählen, sie innerhalb des Projektteams oder mit dem Auftraggeber zu kommunizieren und abzustimmen. Wir stellen eine modellbasierte Entwurfsmethodik vor, die durch die Einteilung des Entwicklungsprozesses in einzelne Konzeptions- und Umsetzungsphasen eine praxisnahe und flexible Erstellung ermöglicht. Verwendete Entwurfsbereiche der Modellierung beziehen sich auf die Perspektiven „Information”, „Navigation” und „Präsentation” sowie „Aufgabe” und „Adaption”. Die Funktionsweise und das Zusammenspiel der verschiedenen Modelle werden vorgestellt und diskutiert. Vor allem bei der Navigationsmodellierung unterstützt eine grafische, durch die Ähnlichkeit zum Web-Layout nachvollziehbare Notation die Entwurfsarbeit, ohne dass, wie z. B. im Storyboarding, für jede Inhaltsvariante ein neuer grafischer Entwurf gezeichnet werden muss. Auf der Basis der Modelle können lauffähige Prototypen generiert werden, die – neben den grafischen Modellen selbst – die Kommunikation, Entscheidung und spätere Umsetzung unterstützen. Summary Web applications are often highly complex and comprehensive systems, which were designed under enormous pressure of time anyhow. Typical conceptual design problems of such systems are to develop early sustainable concepts, to evaluate and choose alternatives, to communicate about it with project-teams or clients. We present a model-based design method, developed by WISE project, which offers a practical and flexible generation by phasing into conception and implementation. Used design areas of modelling are represented by the perspectives “information”, “navigation” and presentation, as well as “exercise” and “adaption”. Furthermore functionality and interaction are introduced and argued. First of all a graphical notation, that looks like the later web layout, provides in modelling of navigation without drawing a new graphical design concept for each content version like the method of e. g. storyboarding does. Based on these models run capable prototypes can be generated which – by the graphical models themselves – helps in communication, decision and later implementation.

Abstract

Task modelling has entered the development process of web applications, strengthening the usage-centred view within the early steps in Web-Engineering (WE). In current approaches, however, this view is not kept up during subsequent activities to the same degree as this is the case in the field of Human-Computer-Interaction (HCI). The modelling approach presented in this contribution combines models as known from WE with models used in HCI to change this situation. Basically the WE-HCI-integration is supported by combining task and object models as known from HCI with conceptual modelling known from WE. In this paper, the main focus is on the WebTaskModel, a task model adapted to web application concerns, and its contribution towards a task-related web user interface. The main difference to existing task models is the build-time and run-time usage of a generic task lifecycle. Hereby the description of exceptions and erroneous situations during task performance (caused by, e.g., the stateless protocol or Browser interaction) is enabled and at the same time clearly separated from the flow of correct action. Zusammenfassung Zur Stärkung der benutzungszentrierten Sicht im Web-Engineering (WE) hat die Aufgabenmodellierung bereits ihren Einzug in die frühen Entwicklungsphasen gefunden. In derzeitigen Ansätzen wird diese Sicht in nachfolgenden Aktivitäten jedoch nicht so konsequent beibehalten wie dies im Bereich der Mensch-Maschine-Kommunikation (MMK) der Fall ist. Der in diesem Beitrag präsentierte Ansatz kombiniert Modelle aus den Bereichen WE und MMK, um so deren notwendige Integration zu unterstützen. Unser derzeitiger Fokus liegt dabei auf den aus der MMK bekannten Aufgaben- und Objektmodellen und den konzeptionellen Modellen, wie sie im WE verwendet werden. Im Kern dieses Beitrags steht das WebTaskModel, ein an die Belange von Webanwendungen angepasstes Aufgabenmodell. Der Hauptunterschied zu existierenden Aufgabenmodellen ist durch das Konzept eines generischen Lebenszyklus für Aufgaben gegeben, das sowohl zur Modellierung als auch als Laufzeitkomponente genutzt wird. Es erlaubt die Spezifikation von Fehler- und Sonderfällen, wie sie etwa durch das zustandslose Protokoll oder durch Browserinteraktionen verursacht werden können. Diese Spezifikationen werden eng mit den Aufgaben verknüpft formuliert und gleichzeitig deutlich getrennt von den regulären Abläufen beschrieben.

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Entwicklung multimodaler, kontextsensitiver Anwendungen gewinnt zunehmend an Interesse. Jedoch stellen diese höhere Anforderungen an den Softwareentwicklungsprozess. In diesem Beitrag werden die Arbeiten und Ergebnisse aus dem EMODE-Projekt vorgestellt, welches sich die Verbesserung der Effizienz der Entwicklung multimodaler, kontextsensitiver Anwendungen zum Ziel gesetzt hat. Dabei nutzt EMODE modellbasierte Entwicklung; wobei insbesondere die Integration der verschiedenen Entwicklungsschritte und eine durchgehende Werkzeugunterstützung betont werden. Summary Interest in development of multimodal, context sensitive applications is growing. But these applications have higher demands on the software development process. In this article, the work and results of the EMODE project are introduced. The project aims at improving the efficiency of developing multimodal, context sensitive applications. EMODE builds upon model driven engineering and focuses on the integration of the various development steps, as well as an end-to-end tool chain support.

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der Ansatz der modellgetriebenen Softwareentwicklung fokussiert Modelle als Spezifikation von Software und deren automatische Transformation bis hin zum Quellcode der gewünschten Zielplattform. Da eine durchgehende Werkzeugunterstützung unter Berücksichtigung aller Aspekte eines Softwaresystems bisher nicht möglich ist, muss der Mehrwert der modellgetriebenen Ansätze noch nachgewiesen werden. Die Durchgängigkeit ist dabei unter anderem auf Grund ungenügender oder fehlender Metamodelle zur Beschreibung einiger Aspekte eines Softwaresystems nicht gegeben. Der hier vorgestellte Ansatz greift den Aspekt der Benutzerinteraktion heraus und zeigt, wie durch die Erweiterung einer Modellierungssprache auf Metamodellebene eine werkzeugunterstützte, modellgetriebene Entwicklung plattformunabhängiger Benutzerschnittstellen ermöglicht wird. Eine Fallstudie demonstriert dabei die Machbarkeit und den Mehrwert dieses Ansatzes. Summary The approach of model-driven software development focuses on models as specification of software and on transformations of those models to finally get the source code. The advantage of the model-driven approach still has to be proven because a continuous tool-supported transformation process from model to source code with regard to all aspects of a software system is not possible yet. The lack of continuity in tool-support is among other reasons based on inappropriate or missing metamodels for describing certain aspects of a software system. The presented approach concentrates on the aspect of user interaction and demonstrates, how an extension of a modeling language allows for a tool-supported, model-driven software development of graphical user interfaces for any kind of platform. A case study demonstrates the feasibility and benefit of this approach.

Abstract

Zusammenfassung In dieser Arbeit werden semi-automatische Verfahren vorgestellt, die den Domänenexperten beim interaktiven Vergleichen und Zusammenführen von Ontologien unterstützen sollen. Das Ziel beim Vergleichen von zwei Ontologien besteht darin, eine Abbildung zwischen der Quell- und Zielontologie zu finden, die dem Nutzerverständnis einer semantischen Entsprechung am nächsten kommt. Für die Initialisierung des Vergleichsprozesses startet der iMERGING-Editor mit der linguistischen Ähnlichkeit von zwei Konzepten, danach werden die strukturellen Eigenschaften der Ontologie berücksichtigt und im dritten Schritt wird die Ähnlichkeit aufgrund zusätzlich vorhandener Informationen wie die Verknüpfung mit Dokumenten untersucht. Nutzereingaben, wie das Ablehnen oder Ändern eines Mappings, werden im Vergleichsprozess interaktiv berücksichtigt, so dass Domänenwissen des Nutzers mit einbezogen werden kann, um semantische Entsprechungen zwischen zwei Elementen der Wissensstruktur zu finden. Summary In this paper we present a semi-automatic method, which helps the user in the process of interactive ontology mapping and interactive ontology merging. The main goal is to produce a mapping that tries to approximate the understanding of what the users consider to be a good match. We start by using linguistic similarity matches between concepts for initiating the matching process, and than use the underlying ontological structures and auxiliary information to inform a set of heuristics for identifying further matches between ontologies. User inputs like rejecting or changing mappings are taken into account, so that the plausibility of the correspondences can increase.
