Abstract

Zusammenfassung Chemische Sensoren, die ein Stimulus-responsives Hydrogel als Messaufnehmer nutzen, bieten viele Vorteile. Die Hydrogele sind kostengünstig, einfach in der Herstellung und für verschiedenste Messgrößen auslegbar. Sensoraufbauten, die den stimulusabhängigen Quelldruck in ein elektrisches Messsignal wandeln, sind gut miniaturisierbar und als Plattform für verschiedene Hydrogelarten nutzbar. Wesentliche Nachteile hydrogelbasierter Sensorprinzipien sind jedoch das Kriechen und die langen Einstellzeiten im Minuten- bis Stundenbereich, die durch langwierige Diffusionsprozesse und das viskoelastische Verhalten der Hydrogele bedingt sind. Die Kraftkompensation ist eine Messmethode diesen beiden Effekten erfolgreich entgegenzuwirken, indem der zeittreibende Volumenphasenübergang des Hydrogels unterdrückt wird. Der hierfür benötigte Aktor verhinderte in früheren Arbeiten jedoch eine Miniaturisierung der Sensoraufbauten. In dieser Arbeit ist daher eine andere Art der Kraftkompensation gezeigt, welche es erlaubt, die vielen Vorteile der Kraftkompensationsmethode auf einen Hydrogelsensor anzuwenden, aber gleichzeitig geringe Abmessungen des Sensoraufbaus zu gewährleisten. Dies gelingt, indem der quellunterdrückende Aktor direkt in den Hydrogel-Messwandler hineinverlegt wird. Auf diese Weise geschieht die Quelldruck-Kompensation im Hydrogel selbst. Zu diesem Zweck ist das Hydrogel als bisensitives Hydrogel ausgelegt. Im Ergebnis verkleinert und vereinfacht sich der Sensoraufbau durch den Wegfall aufwändiger Aktoraufbauten deutlich. Gleichzeitig wird dennoch eine hohe Einstellzeitverkürzung gegenüber der herkömmlichen unkompensierten Messmethode erreicht und die bisherigen Kompensationsansätze mit einer minimalen Einstellzeit von ca. 3 min übertroffen. Es zeigt sich überdies eine signifikante Reduktion unerwünschter Hystereseeigenschaften und die Möglichkeit zur Messbereichserweiterung. Die Messmethode ist am Beispiel eines piezoresistiven Hydrogelsensors gezeigt und prinzipiell auf andere hydrogelbasierte Sensorprinzipien zur Verbesserung der Sensoreigenschaften übertragbar.

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Mit der ganzheitlichen Modellierung neuartiger Transferkörper aus monokristallinem Silizium wird die erforderliche Basis für hochgenaue Kalibrierungen von Massenormalen mit einer Nennmasse von einem Kilogramm unter atmosphärischen Bedingungen geschaffen. Hergeleitet werden die grundlegenden Gleichungen für eine materialunabhängige Auslegung. Dabei werden alle signifikanten physikalischen Randbedingungen sowie die Voraussetzungen für eine nutzergerechte Handhabbarkeit berücksichtigt. Berechnet werden die Parameter für zwei Sorptionskörper, einen Duplexkörper, der sowohl als Sorptions- als auch Auftriebskörper eingesetzt werden kann, sowie zwei Auftriebskörper mit Hohlkammer oder Inlay.

Lamb wave based approach to the determination of acoustic material parameters

Abstract

In this paper a measurement procedure to identify viscoelastic material parameters of plate-like samples using broadband ultrasonic waves is presented. Ultrasonic Lamb waves are excited via the thermoelastic effect using laser radiation and detected by a piezoelectric transducer. The resulting measurement data is transformed to yield information about multiple propagating Lamb waves as well as their attenuation. These results are compared to simulation results in an inverse procedure to identify the parameters of an elastic and a viscoelastic material model.

Abstract

The extension of nanopositioning and nanomeasuring machines (NPM-machines) to fabrication machines by using a femtosecond laser for the implementation of direct laser writing by means of two-photon absorption (2PA) is a promising approach for cross-scale metrological fabrication in the field of lithographic techniques [24]. To this end, a concept for integrating two-photon technology into an NPM machine was developed and implemented, followed by a characterization of the system and targeted investigations to provide evidence for the synergy of the two techniques. On this basis, a new approach to high-throughput micro- and nano-fabrication was developed and investigated, demonstrating new possibilities in cross-scale, high-precision manufacturing [6]. This mix-and-match approach is based on a combination of 2PA laser writing with field emission lithography to fabricate masters for subsequent nanoimprint lithography. Not only the advantages of the large positioning range of the NMM-1 could be highlighted, but also the advantages resulting from the highly accurate positioning. A systematic reduction of the distance between two adjacent lines resulted in a minimum photoresist width of less than 30 nm30\hspace{0.1667em}\text{nm} [16], which can be classified among the smallest distances between two laser-written lines described in the literature [4], [10], [20]. The center-to-center distance of the lines of about 1.695 µm1.695\hspace{0.1667em}\text{\textmu m} at a numerical aperture of 0.16 and a wavelength of 801 nm is only about 56 %56\hspace{0.1667em}\text{\%} of the Rayleigh diffraction limit extended for the two-photon process. Thus, for the first time, a resist width far below the diffraction limit could be realized with conventional two-photon laser writing in positive photoresist.

Investigation of measurement data of low-coherence interferometry at tilted surfaces in the 3D spatial frequency domain

Abstract

The 3D transfer characteristics of interference microscopes and their effect on the interference signals occurring at surface slopes are studied. The interference image stacks acquired during a depth scan are 3D Fourier transformed. This allows a comprehensive frequency domain analysis of the interferograms. The double foil model introduced in a previous publication enables the interpretation of the signal spectra and the underlying transfer behavior of the interferometer using the concept of the Ewald sphere, which is limited by the numerical aperture (NA) of the imaging system. Analysis in the 3D spatial frequency domain directly discloses that the lateral dimensions of the transfer function depend on the axial spatial frequency. In this contribution we investigate measuring objects produced by Nanoimprint-Lithography. The corresponding signal spectra bear information that can be utilized to optimize the subsequent signal processing algorithms. These include envelope and phase evaluation procedures of the interference signals. A narrow bandpass filter is used to actively select certain frequency components in order to improve the robustness of the estimation of the envelope position. Although the shape and width of the envelope are affected, this procedure increases the reliability of the evaluation process and improves the accuracy of the measured topography especially at steeper surface slopes.

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die additive Fertigung ermöglicht eine flexible Herstellung von Kleinserien oder komplexen Bauteilen. Die Vorteile dieses Verfahren liegen vor allem in der hohen Flexibilität und der Möglichkeit, anspruchsvolle Geometrien zu fertigen. Unter dem Schlagwort 3D-Druck werden dabei verschiedene Verfahren zusammengefasst, die auf Basis eines CAD-Modells lagenweise das Bauteil erzeugen. „Wire and Arc Additive Manufacturing“ (WAAM) nutzt einen Lichtbogenschweißprozess, um das Material schichtweise aufzutragen. Dies ermöglicht höhere Auftragsraten im Vergleich zu pulverbett- und laserbasierten, additiven Fertigungsverfahren bei gleichzeitig geringeren Investitionskosten. Die Wahl der Prozesseinstellgrößen erfolgt größtenteils heuristisch, die mangelnde Wiederholbarkeit verhindert aktuell eine breite Anwendung des WAAM-Verfahrens. Die Verwendung eines geschlossenen Regelkreises bietet die Möglichkeit, auftretende Prozessstörungen direkt auszuregeln und die Wiederholbarkeit zu gewährleisten. Der geschlossene Regelkreis erfordert die Erfassung des Prozesses mit geringer Latenz. In diesem Beitrag stellen wir die Echtzeitmessung der Schmelzbadfläche auf Basis eines selbst entwickelten Quotientenpyrometers, welches das Licht vom Lichtbogen ausblendet, beim Metall-Aktivgasschweißen (MAG) mit Stahl vor. Durch die Echtzeiterfassung kann das Signal für eine Regelung der Schmelzbadfläche verwendet werden.

Wear volume estimation for a journal bearing dataset

Abstract

To develop a system for predicting the remaining useful lifetime of a journal bearing, it is necessary to monitor the progressive wear quantitatively. For this purpose, we create a dataset where the wear volume is tracked throughout several experiments. The roundness profile is used to determine the wear volume over the entire life of the journal bearing. Therefore, a procedure for tracking the wear volume is described. The uncertainty of the procedure is analyzed. It is shown that the procedure has good accuracy and that the uncertainty is induced by the manual setting of the measuring positions. It has been shown that acoustic emission can be used to classify different friction states and identify defects in journal bearings. In addition, it has been demonstrated in experimental setups that it can be used to estimate the wear volume of sliding lubricated metallic contacts. Several experiments were carried out under different operating conditions for the dataset’s creation. Finally, the root mean square value of the acquired acoustic emission signal is used for estimation. Linear regression, random forest regressor, multilayer perceptron, and recurrent neuronal network are applied. The wear volume can be estimated with a root mean square error of 0.32 mm 3 and a coefficient of determination of 93 %. Neural networks have the distinct advantage of being able to estimate wear at any point during an experiment.

Scalable multi-distance measurement approach for the optical assessment of tooth-individual shape parameters of large gearings

Abstract

The demand for scalable measuring systems for the fast measurement of tooth-individual shape parameters of large gears is increasing. Due to a limited measuring speed and a limited measuring volume, standard tactile gear measuring systems are only conditionally suitable for comprehensive measurements of large gears. Therefore, the applicability of a scalable optical multi-distance measurement approach consisting of an optical sensor and a rotary table with a model-based evaluation is studied. As a fundamental gear shape parameter, the base circle radius of a large gearing is evaluated and the achievable measurement uncertainty is estimated. As a result, the tooth-individual base circle radius is determined on average with an expanded measurement uncertainty ( k = 2) of one quarter of the required tolerance, and the realized measurement setup enables the measurement of all teeth within 1 minute. Hence, the scalable optical multi-distance measurement approach is appliacable for the fast measurement of tooth-individual shape parameters of large gearings.
