About the University of Chicago Press

The University of Chicago Press is the largest university press in the US. Ever since its foundation in 1890 as one of the three main divisions of the University of Chicago, it has disseminated high-quality academic research and rigorous works that both enhance student learning and enrich the broader cultural sphere.

The press publishes reference works and textbooks, important non-academic works by international authors, and translations of key historical and contemporary texts. Its extensive portfolio also includes books on Chicago and the region.
