Gütersloher Verlagshaus

Gütersloher Verlagshaus’s journal collection provides a forum for academic discussions in the various theological disciplines.

Since the cooperation with De Gruyter began in 2014, users can digitally access the archives of all the respective journals since their publication.

Important parts of the history of modern Protestant-theological journalism are therefore impressively documented.

As a committed, open, critical and liberal publishing house, Gütersloher Verlagshaus with its religious-theological content stands in a tradition that dates back to 1835 and which provided the origins of the Bertelsmann publishing house.

We are proud of this long tradition: as a specialised publishing house in the congregational literature field, as a publisher of academic theology and media for communicating faith—and as an independent partner of the churches.

Gütersloher Verlagshaus is involved in numerous projects in partnership with churches, academies, diaconal institutions and university departments, is in continual dialogue with other denominations and religions, and is therefore able to set an informed and innovative tone in academic journalism.
