University of Hawai‘i Press

At the beginning of 2017, we teamed up with the University of Hawai‘i Press to distribute its electronic publications worldwide. These include a huge range of frontlist and backlist titles.

We are also helping to digitize the UHP archive to ensure that currently out-of-print titles can be made available again.

The press’s outstanding works are an excellent addition to our portfolio, particularly in the field of Asian studies. Thanks to our collaborations with other partner publishers such as ISEAS, Amsterdam University Press, Columbia University Press, and Yale University Press, we are now able to offer nearly 3,000 titles in this area.

About the University of Hawai‘i Press

The press focuses on the humanities and social sciences, the life sciences, and the geosciences. Specific subject areas include history, religion, anthropology, literature, the arts, architecture, the environment, and languages.

UHP has earned a particularly strong reputation in Asian studies, and enjoys a leading position in Buddhist studies and Pacific studies. It is also the most important publisher of academic works on Hawaii and the Pacific region. Alongside these core specialties, the press is building its portfolio in the environmental sciences, indigenous studies, popular culture, and language acquisition.
