To make purchasing eBooks easier and more transparent for librarians, De Gruyter is introducing simplified eBook pricing for institutions as of October 15, 2022.
More than 50,000 eBooks published by De Gruyter and available on degruyter.com are now divided into seven categories, with one set price per category. You can find the new standard pricing here on degruyter.com.
By introducing this simplified and more predictable pricing structure, De Gruyter aims to increase transparency by providing fixed prices that customers can rely on and plan with more easily.

“Against a background of volatile print book pricing we believe it is time to move to a future-oriented price structure that offers librarians greater stability and predictability and reflects the benefits eBooks bring to patrons who increasingly expect round-the-clock access to a library’s holdings on and off-campus. Removing the link to print prices enables us to eliminate outdated models such as textbook multipliers, recognizing that for many libraries and users the eBook is the primary format”
