Abstract
This document deals with the recommended terminology for the description of carbon as a solid as used in the science and technology of carbon and graphite materials. The glossary also contains terms describing related materials, such as precursors for the production of carbon materials, and the processes used in their production. In all, 114 terms are defined, and comments and cross-references are added as notes where appropriate.
