5. Challenges of machining natural fiber-reinforced composites: A review

This chapter was aimed to enlighten readers on topics concerning machining natural fiber composites, mainly drilling. This study summarizes the challenges faced during machining natural fiber composites and defects observed. Delamination (both entry and exit), burrs, uncut fibers, fiber matrix debonding and uncut fibers are the predominant damage types seen during drilling all kinds of natural fiber composites.
