Palestine, and later Israel, has been of foremost importance for German-Jewish immigration. Famous texts by major writers, including Else Lasker-Schüler, Sammy Groneman, Max Brod, Arnold Zweig or Shalom Ben-Chorin, were published in Palestine, not in Germany. The electronic resource contains writings of all genres of German-Jewish immigrants that were published between 1890-2000 in Palestine and Israel. It contains approximately 1,500 entries, of which ca. 250 are linked to their full texts. A classification of text genres (historical, fictional, scientific, political and religious literature as well as everyday literature) allows for the systematic use of the database.
