This volume gathers 12 papers dedicated to Ireneo Peral for his 70th birthday.

In 1974 he obtained his Ph. degree under the supervision of Miguel S. J. de Guzmán. After his first works on harmonic analysis, Ireneo studied intensively non-linear elliptic and parabolic partial differential equations. On this topic he has written more than 120 research works, with important contributions that have had a strong impact in the math community. Furthermore, he is the author of two undergraduate books on differential equations.

A lot of students have been introduced by Ireneo to nonlinear analysis, and learned by him the correct way to carry out the research. In particular, he has had 10 Ph.D. students.

Ireneo’s great energy jointly with his smooth character and his mathematical skills makes it easy to collaborate with him. Actually, Ireneo wrote joint works not only with his students but also with several other mathematicians and many of them have contributed with a paper to this volume.

The picture in the beginning of this volume shows Ireneo with his wife Magdalena and their grandsons Iria and Óscar: it has been chosen to underline the love and the strong bond that ties Ireneo and his family.
