Scorpio On the 6m Telescope: Current State and Perspectives for Spectroscopy of Galactic and Extragalactic Objects

Abstract

A significant part of observations at the Russian 6 m telescope is carried out using the SCORPIO multi-mode focal reducer. During the past ten years, a lot of scientific data have been collected using observations in the direct imaging, slit spectroscopy and Fabry-Pérot interferometry modes. Some results of these observations are considered in this review. We also present a short description of a new generation instrument named SCORPIO-2.
