Why subscribe and read
The journal Architecture and Urban Planning reflects most of the research themes and content of global and local problems in the context of the countries of Baltic Sea region. The journal is focused on such themes as History of Architecture and Urbanism, Preservation and Development of Cultural Heritage, Theories and Criticism of Architecture and Urbanism, Local and Global Tendencies in Architecture and Urban Planning, Sustainable Architecture and Urban Environment; and Landscape Architecture
The Editorial board members are mainly academics and researchers from Northern and Eastern Europe. Architecture and Urban Planning is an Open Access a peer reviewed journal. There are no article processing charges.
The editorial board is participating in a growing community of Similarity Check System's users in order to ensure that the content published is original and trustworthy. Similarity Check is a medium that allows for comprehensive manuscripts screening, aimed to eliminate plagiarism and provide a high standard and quality peer-review process.

Submission of Manuscripts
Instructions for Authors
“Architecture and Urban Planning” is an open access journal published twice a year: in July and December in print and electronically. Articles are assigned a DOI number (Digital Object Identifier) whereby it becomes possible to search and cite them without delay. The journal is focused on such themes as History of Architecture and Urbanism, Preservation and Development of Cultural Heritage, Theories and Criticism of Architecture and Urbanism, Local and Global Tendencies in Architecture and Urban Planning, Sustainable Architecture and Urban Environment; and Landscape Architecture. The manuscripts submitted for consideration should contain previously unpublished material.
The manuscripts are accepted in English. The submissions should be made online at https://aup-journals.rtu.lv/about/submissions#onlineSubmissions and comply with the requirements set in the Submission Preparation Checklist.
The submitted manuscripts are peer reviewed by two experts of the relevant field. The authors are provided with feedback. After the peer review the managing editor assesses the paper’s suitability for publication in the journal and informs the authors about the decision.
After the article has been accepted for publication it goes to the production editor. The production editor makes any necessary corrections and sends the proof to the author for approval. There are no publication charges.
The authors are asked to sign License to Publish governed by the Creative Commons Attribution license in which the author warrants that the article is original, written by stated author/s, has not been published before, contains no unlawful statements, does not infringe the rights of others, is subject to copyright that is vested exclusively in the author and free of any third party rights, and that any necessary written permissions to quote from other sources have been obtained by the author/s.
All articles published in the journal are archived in the OA repository of Riga technical University.
The print version of the journal is published by RTU Press – the publishing house of Riga Technical University.
