Monographien, Aufsätze und Vorträge aus dem Jahr 2016/17 mit Nachträgen aus den beiden Vorjahren

Die von Wilbert Ubbens und Dr. Willi Höfig im Jahr 1982 begründete und bis zum Jahr 2002 jeweils in Heft 3 dieser Zeitschrift veröffentlichte Bibliografie wird mit der vorliegenden Übersicht fortgesetzt. Die Gliederung nach Schlagwörtern und die Zitierweise wurden weitgehend beibehalten, um sowohl die Orientierung zu erleichtern als auch spätere Hinweise auf diese Bibliografie zu vereinfachen. Für diese Übersicht wurden auch wieder Nachweise aus den verwandten Bereichen der Archive, Dokumentationsstellen und Museen aufgenommen, um die für Zeitungen wünschenswerte spartenübergreifende Zusammenarbeit zu fördern.

Für die Online-Ausgabe enthält diese Übersicht erstmals auch direkt anklickbare Hyperlinks.

Um die Genauigkeit zu schätzen, wurden Regeln für die Bewertung der Fehler aufgestellt, Textstichproben automatisch per Skript erstellt und die Stichproben manuell ausgewertet. Mit einer geschätzten Zeichengenauigkeit zwischen 94,70 Prozent und 97,65 Prozent (Konfidenzzahl: 95 Prozent) wurde ein gutes, zufriedenstellendes Resultat erreicht. [Exklusiv für Bibliotheken bringt ProQuest die Newspapers.com Library Edition mit 85 Millionen digitalisierten Seiten von historischen Zeitungen, datierend vom Anfang des 18. bis zum Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts, heraus. Auch ohne den Namen einer konkreten Zeitung zu kennen, können die Volltexte durchsucht werden, indem Zeitschriften nach ihrer geografischen Herkunft in einer aktuellen Kartenansicht gruppiert werden. Ebenso sind Suchen mittels Keyword, Ort oder Zeitraum möglich. Die Images können mittels eines Viewers auch in den Social Media geteilt werden. Die Library Edition von Newspapers.com soll um weitere Titel und Inhalte erweitert werden. Sie enthält derzeit mehr als 3500 Zeitschriften und Sammlungen aus den USA sowie multi-state collections].
