The 23rd International Conference on High Resolution Molecular Spectroscopy will be held within the historical city center of Bologna, Italy, 2-6 September 2014. ICHRMS BOLOGNA2014 will take place in buildings of the Dipartimento di Chimica “Giacomo Ciamician” dell’ Universita’ di Bologna. The university dates back to 1088 and is the first one formally established worldwide. The event will jointly be organized by the Dipartimento di Chimica dell’ Universita’ in Bologna, the Theoretical and Computational Chemistry Group, Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa, and the Istituto per lo Studio dei Materiali Nanostrutturati, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche in Bologna.
ICHRMS BOLOGNA2014 invites contributions in the field of:
· Observation, measurement, and analysis of high resolution rotational, vibrational, or electronic spectra of molecules (radicals, ions, complexes, clusters, etc.) in the gas phase or in matrices.
· Developments in experimental techniques for observing such spectra.
· Theory assisting the prediction, simulation, and interpretation of them.
· Applications in related fields such as the physics and chemistry of the atmospheres of planets and cool stars, the physics and chemistry of the interstellar medium, chemical kinetics, biologically important molecules in the gas phase or in matrices, combustion, cold molecules, metrology, chemical analysis, etc.
Oral presentations are encouraged. Posters will be accepted if there are more than 20 applications.
ICHRMS is a scientific conference series in the field of molecular spectroscopy and molecular theory that started in Prague, Czecheslovakia, in 1970. Since then, 22 ICHRMS conferences have been organized in Czecheslovakia, Poland, and the Czech Republic. By organizing BOLOGNA2014, the organizers aim to strengthen the bridge between experimentalists and theoreticians, and also help the diffusion of advanced high resolution techniques into laboratories throughout the world by delivering the latest scientific and experimental knowledge to the chemistry and molecular physics communities.
