    Aims and Scope

Since the publication of the first issue in April 1978, "Geschichte in Köln" is an important forum for topics of urban and regional history. By now, it is hard to imagine Cologne’s history scene without "GiK". In spite of all changes, the journal remained true to its concept. It tries to interest an expert audience as well as a general audience with an interest in history for research written by well-established historians as well as by young researchers. "Geschichte in Köln" offers its authors the opportunity to present their findings to a wide readership and at the same time offers its readers the opportunity to inform themselves about regional historical research in research-based articles, an extensive review section and up-to-date conference reports. The editors focus on Cologne-related and Rhenish topics, anyhow they also deal with methodological questions and new research approaches of general history.
