On Maximal π‘œπ‘‘-Subsets of the Euclidean Plane

Abstract

We say that a subset 𝑋 of the plane 𝐑2 is an π‘œπ‘‘-set if any three points of 𝑋 form an obtuse triangle. Some properties of π‘œπ‘‘-sets are investigated. It is shown that no finite π‘œπ‘‘-subset of 𝐑2 is maximal, but there exists a countable maximal π‘œπ‘‘-subset of 𝐑2. Several related problems are formulated and discussed.
