Zusammenfassung

Die Entwicklungen im Bereich der Sensortechnologie erlauben eine zunehmende Miniaturisierung von Sensorplattformen. Diese können in Alltagsgegenstände integriert werden und Umgebungsinformationen durch drahtlose Kommunikation bereitstellen. Führt man die erfassten Sensordaten zusammen und ordnet diesen Informationen Orten in räumlichen Modellen zu, entstehen Umgebungsmodelle. Die Erforschung von Methoden und Verfahren für die Erstellung, das Management und die Nutzung der Föderation solcher Umgebungsmodelle ist Ziel des Sonderforschungsbereichs 627 "Umgebungsmodelle für mobile kontextbezogene Systeme" an der Universität Stuttgart.

Summary

The progress in sensor technologies allows the miniaturization of sensor platforms. Integrated into everyday objects such platforms provide information about their physical environment. The integration of such information into spatial models leads to world models. The research objective of the Center of Excellence (SFB) 627 at the University of Stuttgart is to provide the methodological foundations for the generation, management, and usage of federated world models.
