Aktuelle Methoden der Informationsvisualisierung adressieren die Darstellung von Strukturen oder Werteverteilungen massiv großer Datensätze sowie die Optimierung des Platzbedarfs bei der graphischen Ausgabe.
Information visualization denotes the approach to present abstract data graphically and in an intuitive way to a human analyst. The goal is to support the exploration of unknown data and to reveal features and underlying structures. The main challenges in information visualization are the presentation of very large data sets and the optimal exploitation of the display area.
