    Overview

    Mesoporous Biomaterials is an international, peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research, as well as authoritative review and opinion papers dealing with the main issues in the use of porous material properties, including new fabrication approaches, and reporting the advances of these materials in photonic, electronic, optoelectronics, and biomedical applications. The journal welcomes theoretical and experimental papers on all aspects ranging from fundamental sciences to commercial applications. Overall, Mesoporous Biomaterials is devoted to the publication of research results regarding porous solids classified as mesoporous (pore size 2 to 50 nm). Typical examples include (but are not limited to) mesoporous silica and silicon materials, zeolites and zeolite-like materials, organic/inorganic porous hybrid materials, porous metal oxides, and porous metal-organic frameworks. Both natural and synthetic porous materials are within the scope of the journal, as long as their properties have a specific application (e.g. as biomaterials). A biomaterial is defined as a substance that has been engineered to interact with biological systems. It can also be used for any therapeutic and/or diagnostic applications.

    Aims and Scope

    Why subscribe and read

    Mesoporous Biomaterials is a freely available journal, which reports on recent developments on porous materials and their applications in different fields in the form of regular original papers, rapid communications, reviews and mini-reviews, as well as letters. This multidisciplinary journal provides a unique selection of articles on the most important achievements and advances in the fabrication, characterization, theory and applications of nanoengineering porous materials. It covers a wide range of issues that are of interest to contemporary research, industry, health institutions and even the general public. This journal also attracts physicists, chemists, biologists, engineers and scientists, who - working in health related areas or due to an interest in the interface of life science - want to discover new applications of porous materials.
    The Open Access model allows ready access to its target audience and the peer-review system, along with the outstanding scientists of the Advisory Board, ensures that high quality is maintained throughout.

    Why submit

    Mesoporous Biomaterials is unique in its focus on the application of porous materials in different fields of science, including for instance physics, biomedical engineering, nanotechnology and material sciences. This journal intends to establish an international, devoted and prominent following within the emerging field of mesoporous materials and their applications, such as electronics and biomedicine. The reputation of the journal and its high standard are maintained by the prominent scholars on its Advisory Board, who are actively working in all areas related to porous materials.
    The open access formula provides a platform for exposure of your published work to a broad international and diverse audience. This increases the recognition and citation of your research results. High quality articles and reviews are evaluated by top experts in the field of mesoporous biomaterials.
    The authors are offered a variety of benefits:
    transparent, comprehensive and fast peer review;

    • free language assistance for authors from non-English speaking regions;
    • convenient, web-based manuscript submission and tracking system;
    • efficient route to fast-track publication and full advantage of Versita's e-technology;
    • no publication charge in the first two annual volumes.
