Microalgae Biotechnology is closed for submissions and will be discontinued effective January 1, 2017

Microalgae Biotechnology is a journal devoted to stimulate and diffuse studies on the translational research and applications dealing with these particular algae. The value of microalgae in biotechnology is the subject of an unprecedented move worldwide. Research in this field has predicted this current attraction and microalgae provides a new vegetal source, complementary to the land plants. The challenges that we are facing today is to adapt, improve existing methods, develop new processes, and achieve a drastic reduction of costs. The purpose is to completely use this green biomass in its entirety. The potential is huge and the fields of study are numerous and offering very high added value in energy, health, food , environment, tools for toxigenesis abatement and industry. Microalgae Biotechnology publishes original papers, short notes and reviews in the fast growing field of microalgae valorisation. We are the hub for scientist who would like to build the future of that fascinating concrete and growing field.

    Aims and Scope

    Why subscribe and read

Microalgae Biotechnology is an international journal dedicated to the publication of high quality applied research covering the broad field of microalgae and their use. It covers large areas from the biology (species, ecophysiology, metabolism), cultivation (photobioreactors, open ponds,) harvesting and processing, biorefinery to life cycle analysis. The journal is an international forum for the advance of the biotechnology and aims at facilitating the exchanges of ideas concerning the breakthrough that have to be addressed to help this emerging domain to reach an industrial level. Microalgae Biotechnology is the place to share up to date developments, technologies, new tools and strategies for the future.

    Why submit

Microalgae Biotechnology is a new journal devoted to all aspects of the research of this fast growing domain. The journal welcomes all articles dealing with microalgae in an applied vision and offers fast and comprehensive peer-review by outstanding scientists in the area of biology and technology, considering the enormity of potential applications. Our peer-review process is streamlined, and papers can be published rapidly. The journal also provides a free language editing.
