Mid 2018 will see changes at Statistical Applications in Genetics and Molecular Biology. After almost 6 years as Editor-in-Chief, Professor Michael Stumpf has handed over editorial responsibility to Professor Guido Sanguinetti, School of Informatics of the University of Edinburgh, UK.
Michael took the position of Editor-in-Chief in 2013, at a time when the journal had recently been taken over by De Gruyter from bepress. He expanded the Editorial Board, re-focussed the scientific scope and opened the journal for additional topics and authors. Michael did this on top of his manifold, national and international academic commitments inside and outside of his university work.
We would like to express our sincerest thanks to Michael Stumpf for his great personal commitment and the considerable contribution he has made to SAGMB. On a personal level, it has been a great pleasure to work with Michael and we are delighted that he will continue with the journal as a member of the Editorial Board.
Guido Sanguinetti has been a long-term, trusted Board member of SAGMB. We would like to warmly wish Guido all the best for his future task as Editor-in-Chief, and very much look forward to shape the journal together with him and the entire editorial team.
