Abstract

The crystal structure of AgTaO3 has been determined with the intensities of 778 independent reflections measured on a X-ray four-circle single-crystal diffractometer at 295 K. The unit cell is rhombohedral with aR = 5.5758 Å, αR = 59.434°, aH = 5.5281(1) Å, cH = 13.7159(5) Å, γH = 120°, VH = 363.00 Å3, ZH = 6, Dc = 9.24 gcm−3. The refinement was carried out in the two possible space groups: R3c and R[unk]c, and converged to Rw = 2.6 and 2.8%, respectively. The acentric space group R3c was chosen as the proper one for AgTaO3.
