Abstract

The crystal structures of (PPh3)HgRe2 (μ-acPh)(μ-PCy2)(CO)61 and (PPh3)HgRe2(μ-PCy2) Cl(CO)72 (Cy = cyclohexyl) exhibit both a HgRe2 triangular metal core with an exocyclic PPh3 ligand attached to Hg. 1 crystallizes in space group P[unk] with a = 9.703(2) Å, b = 10.484(3) Å, c = 21.526(6) Å, α = 86.46(2)°, β = 84.26(2)°, γ = 81.65(2)°, V = 2153(1) Å3. The metal – metal bond lengths are Re – Re 3.060(1) Å, Hg – Re 2.757(1) Å and Hg – Re 2.765(1) Å. Compound 2 crystallizes in space group P21/n with a = 15.134(4) Å, b = 9.623(4) Å, c = 27.273(9) Å, β = 92.42(2)°, V = 3967(2) Å3. Bond lengths are Re – Re 3.254(1) Å, Hg – Re 2.770(1) Å and Hg – Re 2.786(1) Å.
