  • Wolfgang Maier

Retinula pigment cells of the wild type wa+ and the mutant wa of Ephestia kühniella were observed in the electron microscope. In the wa+-retinula pigment cells characteristically shaped structures were found, that could not be found in those of wa. These structures may be identified as “propigment granule” stages in the developmental sequence of pigment granules.
