A new lithium germanide Li11Ge6 has been found and its crystal structure has been determined. It crystallizes orthorhombic, α = 4.38 ± 0.01 Å, b = 24.55 ± 0.05 A, c = 10.64 ± 0.02 Å, space group Cmcm-D2h17. The Ge-sublattice consists of isolated, plane, five-membered rings and isolated atoms.
