Nitrogen tribromide was prepared andisolated in a pure state. Its analysis and molecular spectra are reported briefly. Reactions with ammonia, tertiary organic Nbases, and iodine give monobromamine, molecular addition compounds between Nbaseand bromine, and nitrogendibromidemonoiodide,respectively.
