Abstract

The ternary compound Li3Ce5Ge4 has been prepared and structurally characterized. It crystallizes orthorhombically (a = 1885 pm, b = 694.7 pm, c = 447.6 pm, space group B 2 mm). The structure shows germanium chains in a three-dimensional network of metal atoms.
