The dehalogenation of the 1-aryl-3-chloro-4-oxo-azetidine-2-carboxylicacid-ester (3a-d) and (4a-d), which may be obtained by the addition of chloroketene to the aniles (2 a-d) leads to the title compounds in good yield.
