Die staatsrechtliche Situation beim Tod des Augustus

Helmut Castritius

Abstract

The death of Augustus concerning public law. The author suggests a new explanation for the hesitation of Tiberius to take possession of the full power after the death of Augustus. It was not an attitude of deception or an insidious game, but rather the missing of an official competence at this moment.

Keywords: Death of Augustus 14 a.d.; Tiberius; possession of power; lack of official competence; public law
