Die Sprache der Wissenschaft als ein Element der Kultur

Valerij Demjankov

Abstract

Sciences originate within particular cultures, then they undergo the process of internationalization, developing towards future civilization, in which patterns of spiritual life manifest themselves as particular entities of cultural universals. Linguistically important concepts (such as “beauty”, “language” etc.) are emergent in their character: they can be reconstructed by the analysis of the representative corpora of texts. The methods of this analysis resemble those used in sociology.

Paragrana is an international transdisciplinary journal edited by the Interdisciplinary Center for Historical Anthropology at Freie Universität Berlin. Freed from any attachment to an abstract anthropological norm, it explores the phenomena and structures of the human situation at the intersection of critical work in history, the humanities, and anthropology in order to develop fruitful new paradigmatic questions.
