Li2P(2,4,6-Me3C6H2) reacts with Cp°MoCl2(PMe3)2 (Cp° = C5Me4Et) with reductive cleavage of the Mo -Cp° bond to yield MoCl2(PMe3)2 (1). The reaction of the Mo(II) derivative MoCl2(PMe3)4 with two equivalents of KPPh2(dioxane)2 yields [Mo(μ-PPh2)(PPh2)(PMe3)]2 (2). Both have been characterized by X-ray crystal structure determination.
