Le Corbusier, Ernst May, Frank Lloyd Wright, The Architects Collaborative und die Globalisierung der Architekturmoderne
[Late Colonial Modernism: Le Corbusier, Ernst May, Frank Lloyd Wright, The Architect’s Collaborative, and the Globalization of Modern Architecture]
Aims and Scope
The study examines the involvement of prominent Western modernists in the globalization of modern architecture during the 1930s to the 1960s. Finely contextualized analyses demonstrate that the projects defined by colonial continuities bear greater witness to the repressive conditions governing their creation than to progress and emancipation.
