Aims and Scope
In 1828, M. H. Lichtenstein, Professor of Zoology at Berlin University, organized a famous natural science conference together with Alexander von Humboldt. He was the first director of Berlin’s Zoological Gardens, developed scientific collections, sponsored expeditions, and supported Humboldt in matters related to zoology, museum holdings, etc. Lichtenstein was also an active member of the Choral Society.
