Wissenschaftspolitik, Geschichtswissenschaft und nationale Narrative unter dem Franco-Regime, 1939-1964
[Alien Modernity: Science Policy, Historiography, and Nationalist Narratives under the Franco Regime, 1939–1964]
Aims and Scope
Perhaps more than any other 20th century dictatorship, the Franco regime in Spain was determined to impose its own notion of science. Andrés Antolín Hofrichter show how Franco’s science policy reshaped research with the aim of symbolizing a specifically Spanish way between tradition and modernity – a direction with particular implications for historiography and the new narratives that it began to formulate.
