Religion und Gesellschaft
Sinnstiftungssysteme im Konflikt
[Religion and Society: Conflicted Systems for Creating Meaning]
Ed. by Graf, Friedrich Wilhelm / Hartmann, Jens-Uwe
Aims and Scope
Religion has returned to the agendas of modern societies. Particularly outside Europe, religious actors have asserted their power to mobilize people, and have generated new conflicts through their interpretations. Religion can serve to integrate societies, but also heightens polarizing tendencies. The volume explores the dark side of religious consciousness as well as new charismatic forms of Christianity, alternative offerings, and esoterica.
