He is the founder of the university’s Competence Center for Electronic Publishing and Information Retrieval in the Humanities and one of the editors of the Middle High German Dictionary.

    Johannes Janota is Professor Emeritus of Medieval German Language and Literature in the Department of German Language and Literature of the University of Augsburg. He is one of the editors of Germanistik. Internationales Referatenorgan mit bibliographischen Hinweisen, the central international journal covering the study of German language and literature, including associated fields.
